#Walk4SLE (Walk-a-Payung Sep 2018) Highlights
In conjunction with Lupus Malaysia, Blanc Designs, Maxxis and CST Tires’ team did it!
With the lead of Blanc Designs and Kian Hon Tyres’s (Sole distributor of Maxxis & CST Tires) Executive Director, Ms Helen Tan, an umbrella walkathon was successfully held to raise public awareness on SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus).
This charity event has successfully captivated a huge crowd and there was over 1,500 people where everyone carrying umbrellas during the 3km as a sign of solidarity with SLE patients, who could experience a relapse with exposure to sunlight. One of the association’s main objectives is to initiate and nurture the formation of SLE support groups in Malaysia, thereby strengthening the support system for SLE patients and their families. Participation in support groups could help SLE patients get access to emotional help, boost self-esteem and morale as well as improve their coping skills.
